Sloth Bears in India

1.  Sloth Bear is one of the unique bear species found mainly in the India. They have long shaggy black fur and a white V-shaped mark on the chest.

2.   Sloth bears have long curved claws used for digging termites and ants. They are mostly nocturnal and spend the day resting in caves, forest shade.

3.   Sloth bears have poor eyesight but a strong sense of smell, they can break termite mounds easily with their claws

4.   Cubs stay with their mother for about 2–3 years, sloth bears carry cubs on their back which is very rare among bear species

5.   Sloth bears are very aggressive and strong, and sometimes they stand on hind legs and fight the tiger to protect cubs

1.  Sloth bears are omnivores prefer insects, termites, ants, Honey, bee larvae

2.  Sloth bears like Fruits such as mango, berries,  jackfruit

3. Sloth bears use their strong lips and vacuum-like mouth to suck insects from termite mounds.
